Select one of your pieces, then click a valid destination. Pieces slide in any of 8 directions to the farthest empty space until blocked.

Win Conditions

  • Horizontal or vertical line of 4
  • Occupy all 4 corners
  • Form a 2×2 square anywhere

Diagonal lines do not win!

Why'd you make this?

We once played a game that was challenging, given that it has a few flaws, you'd be surprised how many times you can replay Dao.

This game is over 27 years old now, and to celebrate it, we've rebuilt it – Soon to be available on the app store for free, we're releasing a desktop version here so we can test the waters before our first big game is released!

The original statement about the game? That looked something like this:

The ultimate strategy.

Test of balance, movement, point and counterpoint, Dao blends the basic simplicity of tic-tac-toe and the intricate complexity of chess.

A hidden classic.

Have fun. Any problems, give us a nudge eyeversuseye@gmail.com
